ERIE, CO
Why Erie Vehicles Take More Damage Than Most Owners Expect
Erie Commons parking lots produce constant low-speed damage. The rows at King Soopers, Starbucks and the restaurants along Erie Parkway are packed daily. People backing out of spots clip adjacent bumpers. Shopping carts roll into quarter panels. Drivers squeezing through drive-through lanes scrape side panels. These are not highway collisions. They are the kind of damage that leaves a crack in a panel you look at every day. Paint chips that sit through an Erie winter with exposed metal begin to rust faster than most owners expect.
The County Line Road and Erie Parkway roundabout catches drivers off guard constantly. New residents to the area who are not yet familiar with the flow of traffic through this intersection make contact at low speed on a regular basis. Front bumper damage, cracked grille sections and damaged headlight housings are the most common results. We have been repairing vehicles from this roundabout for years and the call volume increases every season as the population grows.
Spring hailstorms roll off the Front Range and hit Erie's open lots with nothing to stop them. The newer neighborhoods east of Erie Commons along Telluride Street and Jasper Lane have fewer mature trees for any cover. Vehicles parked in driveways and along the street absorb the full impact. Hoods, roofs and trunk lids take the worst of it. Hail that cracks clear coat or chips paint creates an entry point for moisture. In Erie's climate that can become a rust issue within one winter season if left unaddressed.
Erie Parkway between County Line Road and Highway 119 carries heavy traffic at all hours. People commuting to US-287, parents driving to soccer practice and construction traffic from new development south of Baseline all use this corridor. Rear-end contacts at signals and side impacts at merge points happen regularly. The stretch between the shopping center and Bonanza Drive is particularly active during school hours.

If you are coming from Telluride Street or Jasper Lane head west to County Line Road and then south. The best time to drop off is before 8:15 AM. COMMON QUESTIONS
Erie — Frequently Asked Questions
Real questions from Erie drivers about getting their vehicle repaired at SVE Autobody in Broomfield.
How far is SVE Autobody from Erie Commons?
YES
Approximately 20 minutes under normal traffic conditions. Head west on Erie Parkway to County Line Road then south on US-287 toward Broomfield. The shop is at 465 Alter St, Broomfield, CO 80020. The route is straightforward with no complex turns. If you are coming before 8:15 AM you will miss the heavier 287 commuter traffic. Tom can confirm directions when you call (303) 466-6717.
My bumper was damaged in the Erie Commons parking lot. Is it worth repairing?
YES
Always bring it in for an assessment before deciding. A paint chip or crack in the bumper cover exposes bare plastic and metal to Erie's weather. Through one winter that chip can grow as the freeze-thaw cycle stresses the paint edge. What was a straightforward repair becomes larger. Tom will give you an honest estimate and tell you whether filing an insurance claim makes sense or whether paying out of pocket is the better call.
Do you repair hail damage for Erie residents?
YES
Yes. Hail damage is one of the most common repairs we perform for Erie drivers. The newer neighborhoods east of Erie Commons along Telluride Street and Jasper Lane have minimal tree coverage and vehicles parked outside absorb the full impact of Front Range storms. We assess every dent under high-intensity shop lighting, use PDR where paint is undamaged and traditional repair where the clear coat has cracked. We handle the insurance claim directly.
Can you tow my vehicle from Erie to your Broomfield shop?
YES
Yes. Call SVE at (303) 466-6717 and we coordinate towing through our established partners. USA Towing at (303) 981-3176 can also be reached directly. Tell the tow driver the destination is 465 Alter St, Broomfield, CO 80020. A complimentary loaner car is available when you arrive so you can drive back to Erie without disruption.
Is a free loaner car available for Erie residents?
YES
Yes. Any repair that runs more than one day includes a complimentary loaner at no charge. There is no daily rate. Tom or Melanie hands you the keys at drop-off and you drive back to Erie. Most Erie customers are back home within 30 to 40 minutes of dropping off. When your repair is complete Tom calls you and you return the loaner at pickup.
