WHAT CERTIFICATION MEANS FOR YOUR VEHICLE
Why GM Chose to Certify SVE
GM's Collision Repair Network selects facilities that meet the manufacturer's requirements for equipment, technician training and repair procedures across all four GM brands. SVE passed GM's validation process and is certified to repair Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac vehicles to factory specifications. That certification is maintained through ongoing verification.
One certification. Four brands. SVE handles them all under the same GM-approved procedures and Genuine GM parts. Whether you drive a Silverado, an Acadia, an Enclave or an Escalade, your repair meets the standard GM specifies. No brand left to a different shop.

THE RISK OF GOING UNCERTIFIED
What Happens When Your GM Vehicle Goes to a Non-Certified Shop
Factory Warranty at Risk
Repairs performed outside GM's certified network using non-OEM parts or procedures that deviate from GM specifications can void your factory warranty. A non-certified shop has no obligation to protect your coverage. A GM certified facility does.
Corrosion Protection Missed
GM's repair procedures include specific corrosion protection steps that non-certified shops often skip because they add time and cost. Missed corrosion protection does not show up immediately. It shows up as rust months after the repair when the vehicle is already out of the shop and the warranty on the work is harder to enforce.
Safety Systems Left Uncalibrated
GM vehicles across all four brands carry advanced driver assistance systems integrated into the body structure. After a collision these systems require recalibration using GM-specific diagnostic equipment. Non-certified shops do not have that equipment and cannot complete this recalibration to manufacturer specifications.
WHAT OUR CERTIFICATION REQUIRES
GM Holds SVE to a Specific Standard. Here Is What That Covers.
01
Genuine GM OEM Parts
Every repair uses Genuine GM parts sourced directly from the manufacturer. Engineered to exact specifications for fit, finish, structural integrity and corrosion resistance across all four GM brands. No aftermarket substitutions.
02
GM-Specific Tooling and Equipment
GM certification requires specific repair equipment on-site covering all four GM brands. SVE carries the GM-approved tooling for frame straightening, structural repair and corrosion protection that the certification program mandates. This equipment investment is required to achieve and maintain certified status.
03
I-CAR and GM-Certified Training
SVE technicians complete I-CAR Gold Class training and GM-specific supplemental training covering Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac vehicle platforms including aluminum-intensive body structures and advanced safety systems. Training covers all current and recent model years across the full GM lineup.
04
ADAS Recalibration to GM Specifications
All four GM brands use integrated camera, radar and sensor systems that require post-collision recalibration. SVE performs this recalibration in-house to GM manufacturer specifications on every applicable repair across every brand in the GM family.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions About GM Certified Repair
Does GM certification cover Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac?
Yes. SVE's GM Certified Collision Repair Network status covers all four GM brands under a single certification. Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac are all repaired to GM factory specifications using Genuine GM parts and GM-approved procedures.
Does SVE use Genuine GM parts on every repair?
Yes. GM certification requires the use of Genuine OEM GM parts on all certified repairs. These parts are engineered to GM's specifications for fit, finish, structural integrity and corrosion protection. We do not source aftermarket substitutes on GM jobs.
Will my GM factory warranty stay intact after a repair at SVE?
Yes. Repairs performed by a GM Certified Collision Repair Network facility using Genuine GM parts and factory procedures maintain your factory warranty across all four brands. A repair at a non-certified shop using non-OEM parts can give GM grounds to deny warranty claims on the repaired area.
What is corrosion protection and why does it matter in a collision repair?
Corrosion protection involves applying specific sealants, coatings and primers to bare metal exposed during a structural repair. GM's repair procedures require these steps. Non-certified shops often skip them to save time and cost. Missed corrosion protection does not appear immediately. It appears as rust in the repaired panels months after the job is complete when the work is harder to dispute.
Do I have to use the repair shop my insurance company recommends?
No. In Colorado you have the legal right to choose your own collision repair facility regardless of which shop your insurance company prefers. Your insurer may suggest a shop within their preferred network. You are not required to go there.
