What Causes Vehicle Damage in Rock Creek Ranch and the Superior Area
Narrow driveways and street parking in Rock Creek Ranch produce scrapes and door damage regularly. Many homes in the neighborhood have driveways with limited clearance for modern vehicle widths. Side mirrors get caught by garage door frames when pulling in too wide. Rocker panels scrape driveway aprons on homes with steep entry angles. Vehicles parked on the street are at close range to neighbors and the door dings that result happen throughout the neighborhood. King Soopers on McCaslin Boulevard and the nearby Target also produce parking lot door dings on a regular basis.
Rock Creek Ranch is exposed to hail with minimal overhead protection. The open terrain between Rock Creek Ranch and the foothills provides no shelter when late spring storms develop quickly. Wide open driveways and uncovered street parking mean vehicles take the full impact. Horizontal panels absorb the most dents. Paint cracked by hail creates a rust entry point that deteriorates through one Colorado winter if left unaddressed. We have received entire neighborhoods of vehicles from Rock Creek Ranch after single storm events.
Coal Creek Drive and the sharp bends leading out of Rock Creek Ranch produce winter collision damage. Black ice forms faster on these bends than on the open roads into Superior. Front-end damage from off-road contacts with curbs and barriers through these sections in winter months is a consistent repair category for this neighborhood. A front-end contact that looks cosmetic from the outside frequently has hidden structural damage that is only visible during teardown.
Deer strikes along Rock Creek Parkway and McCaslin Boulevard cause serious structural damage. Deer migrate through the open space bordering Rock Creek Ranch regularly. A strike at 35 mph can deform a quarter panel, crack a headlight assembly and bend the fender bracket behind the panel. This type of damage requires a full teardown assessment before any repair estimate is possible. We see these repairs from Rock Creek Ranch drivers every fall.
